CattleWest
Commission Co. is a fully Licensed and Bonded Commission Company and
Dealer. The company was started by Jess W. Goodwin who has a lifetime of
experience dealing in the cattle business and over 15 years experience
in the cattle trade industry. Jess grew up on a small cattle ranch
in Hartline, Washington where he is the fourth generation on the ranch and
maintains it to this day with his children, Joshua and Josi. His father and mother both
have been very active in the industry. Jess attributes much of his
knowledge and integrity to his father, Dave. His mother, Patti, is a
past president of Washington State CattleWomen and is a
current member of the Grant Co. CattleWomen.

Soon after
graduating High School in 1979, he decided to further
his knowledge in the cattle industry by hiring on to
work for the larger cattle outfits. Jess has worked for
the Babbitt Ranch in Northern Arizona, Circle Cattle Co.
in Big Piney, Wyoming and for the King Ranch here in
Washington. Along with these ranches, he has day-worked
for many other ranches around the region and still does
to this day. He's an accomplished farrier, has been a
guide in the Grand Canyon as well as a truck driver.
Jess is also a Cowboy Poet, and has participated in the
National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada. Jess
has stood at the Presidential podium where he opened for
President Bush Sr. during his 1992 campaign. In that
same year he and his father were featured in the Western
Horseman's Cowboy calendar. After five years of working
around the country, he came back to Washington to
further his knowledge by attending college and studying
animal science. |

His initial goal
was to be a veterinarian, but chose to work the cattle
industry instead. He got his start in the cattle
trade industry with Bill and Rod Nuckolls at the Quincy
Livestock Market. After three years with Quincy
Livestock Market, he joined up with Toppenish Livestock
Commission Co. where he has been a field
representative for the past 12 years along with starting his own company.
While working for both of these livestock markets, he
has also been a representative with Western Video
Market. CattleWest Commission Co. will continue to be a
representative with Western Video Market, providing the
same great service. |

Jess
believes in honesty and integrity! After having some negative
experiences marketing their family's cattle, Jess has made
it his goal to provide a service to the producer and buyer, that
they can trust, depend on, and know that they are going to get the
fairest treatment and market value for their product. Because of
Jess's honesty and integrity he has carried with him over the
years, you can be assured that he will work hard to further you and your
cattle's reputation. He has maintained the majority of his
customer base through the ups and downs of the market by providing this
type of quality service.
Jess and
CattleWest Commission Co. will continue to work very hard to build upon
this standard of representation.
Thank You,
Jess W.
